| The thing you love is doomed, especially if you love an organization. I know that many of you know this already. This community has been talking to each other. You've been calling me. And, you've been clear about how doomed you are. I had one of these conversations today. Near the end of the conversation the potential leader I was speaking with said, "I agree with you that we need to act intentionally and aggressively, and approach our situation with focus and energy, I don't think the other members of the board will get into this. Maybe the Executive Director will agree, but who is going make sure this is going to happen? Who is going to leads us?" The answer to the question "who is going to lead us?" is... |
Last week I shared with you an updated workbook for "The Perfect Non-Profit" I offered at the 2014 DSAIA Leadership Conference. The challenge of you being "The Chosen One" is the assumption behind the workbook I share today. I facilitated twice a session called "Your Organization is Doomed" and I created the above workbook so participants can easily test the ideas shared in the session when they got home. I offer the workbook to you to use and share as you'd like.
So I return to how I began this note. Everything you love is doomed and you are one who is going to have to save everything you love. No one else is going to do it. I hope this tool helps.
