We've seen how big this problem is. We've explored the attributes you need to cultivate to get through it.
Now we're going take action...actually 3 (a day).
- Do you make a simple to-do list?
- Or, like me, do you create a list and then prioritize the tasks as "As", "Bs" and "Cs", making sure to do the "As" before the "Bs" and "Cs"?
- Or, maybe you don't make a list, and just improvise?
- Or, maybe you don't make a daily list? Maybe you maintain 1 master list that you add to at will and then complete the 3 most important things on it everyday?
I think the 1st ritual is much better than the 3rd (almost anything is better than the 3rd), and the 2nd beats the 1st. But, the 4th...well maybe that has the power to solve your capacity problem.
Want to know how? Check out this article on 99u.com. Give it a try and email me at sterlinglynk@att.net to share how it's going. We can even schedule a time to set up a daily planning ritual of your own.
Next, week we'll take this idea even further.
Be well,
Sterling Lynk
P.S. - I use the 2nd ritual everyday, capacity issues or not, but I do a monthly reset with the 4th or anytime there is "too much". I gain productive by the focus which helps work though my list, but it's real power is in making clear what's really an "A" and what isn't.
